Beginning Monday, September 22, BWH will be converting to Metrocall Paging Services. Partners Operator Services staff and representatives from Metrocall will be onsite in BWH’s Lower Atrium lobby from 7 a.m. through midnight, seven days a week, until the conversion in complete. Partners staff will handle physical pager conversions, during which Metrocall staff will conduct brief training sessions. The conversion is expected to take one month, and times are subject to change.
The conversion will entail a change of hardware in the existing pagers. However, existing pagers will remain active until an employee makes the actual conversion. All other aspects of the BWH Paging Service will remain the same, including Partners pager ID and the paging procedure via the Internet, BICS or automated paging system. In addition, no upgrades will take place at this time.
